Choosing the Right Rug for Your Space

We’re hard-pressed to think of anything more capable of enhancing and unifying the look of a room than an area rug. That’s why it can feel like an intimidating choice for someone trying to decorate their home. We have three tips to help you narrow your choices down!

Consider the rug's job
Is it tying together the look of your space, or is it to prevent floor dings and slippery falls? All of the above? Answering these questions can help you narrow your choices down.

Know the look you're aiming for
The rug doesn't need to match every little thing in the room to do its job. A good rule of thumb: make sure the rug's most dominant tone will complement *something* in the room, such as a wall art or the sofa. A sales associate in your favourite furniture retailer can help you track that look down! ;)

Size matters
You want a rug that fits the space without overwhelming it. Leave enough floor visible between the wall and the rug, but it's a good idea to bridge any gaps you want removed between furniture pieces.
