Caring for Your Purchase

  • Fabric Protection

Follow manufacturer’s label before cleaning or consult a cleaning professional. Rotate and reverse all cushions at least once a week to prevent uneven wear and wedging of the foam.

We recommend the purchase of Leon’s Fabric Protection, with its 5-year warranty, in order to guard your purchase against accidental spills or stains.

    Cleaning Your Fabric Furniture

    • Keep upholstered furniture out of direct sunlight.

    • Rotate cushions and pillows on a regular basis to allow even distribution of wear.

    • Vacuum weekly using the upholstery attachment to remove soil that could be abrasive to surface.

    • Periodic professional cleaning is recommended.

  • Leather Protection

We recommend the purchase of Leon’s Platinum Leather Care, with its 5-year warranty, to moisturize your purchase and provide you with repair or replacement protection against accidental stains, tears, burns and scuffs.

    Cleaning Your Leather Furniture

    • Dust regularly and use a vacuum cleaner crevice tool to clean seams.

    • Clean weekly using a damp sponge (protected leather) or soft, lint-free cloth (natural unprotected leather). Do not rub; instead, wipe gently.

    • Keep leather furniture out of direct sunlight and at least two feet from heat sources to avoid fading and cracking.

    • Pre-test all of the care products on a hidden area of your leather furniture to make sure that they are compatible with the leather.

  • Wood Products

Keep your wood furniture out of direct sunlight at all times. Always use coasters under cups and glasses, placemats under plates, hot pads under serving dishes. Keep furniture away from heating and air conditioning sources to prevent loss of moisture. Use felt backing on lamps and other accessories to prevent scratches and gouges.

    Cleaning Your Wood Furniture

    • Use a lint-free cloth to polish wood furniture on a weekly basis.

    • Furniture polish is not recommended, but a silicone-free lemon oil twice yearly would be satisfactory.

    • To remove food stains: Wipe up the spill immediately. Dab with a soft, clean cloth.

    • To remove water rings: Rub with a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and cooking oil in the same direction of the grain.

    • To remove candle wax or chewing gum: Hold an ice cube over the wax or gum for a few seconds so it hardens. Be sure to wipe up water as the ice melts to prevent water spots. Remove as much of the wax or gum as possible with your fingers and then scrape away the remainder gently using the dull edge of a table knife. Rub the spot briskly with a cloth saturated in cream wax. Repeat if needed.

  • Glass

    Cleaning Your Glass Furniture

    • Clean using warm water and a soft, lint-free cloth. Wring out excess water and wipe surface. Dry immediately with a dry lint-free cloth.

    • A non-abrasive commercial glass cleaner may also be used.

  • Bedding

We recommend the purchase of Leon’s Platinum Sleep Care System with its 90 day “Sleep Tight” comfort guarantee. We also recommend including a new steel bed frame with your bedding purchase which will give you the most stable support for your new mattress set.

    Cleaning Your Mattress

    • Vacuum mattress regularly.

    • Turn and rotate your mattress twice a year to help equalize the wear and tear that normally occurs.

  • Rugs

Rugs provide comfort from hard floors and warmth during cold weather, while perfectly tying the room together. However, rugs are often walked on daily and can be easily stained. Keep your rugs looking beautiful and your space feeling comfortable and cozy by following the instructions listed below.

    Cleaning Your Rug

    • Vacuum regularly on the lowest-level suction.

    • Rotate on a regular basis to evenly distribute wear.

    • Professionally clean once a year to remove any stains.

  • Furniture Warranty

Leon’s will uphold the manufacturer’s warranty terms and conditions as they relate to each product. Although some furniture manufacturers do not offer a written warranty, and Leon’s is not an insurance agent, we want you to be satisfied with your purchase. If problems do arise, please do not hesitate to call our service department at the phone number on the back of your sales order.

  • Appliances & Electronics Warranties

All appliances and audio/electronics products sold by Leon’s are covered by factory warranty. A card detailing this warranty is packed with each article and is honoured by any of that manufacturer’s approved service depots.

  • Product Protection Plan

Although all appliances and audio/video products sold by Leon’s include the manufacturer’s warranty, we recommend the purchase of King & State Product Protection Plan featuring complete extension of the original manufacturer terms and conditions, no deductions (for Peace of Mind™) and convenient in-home service (for most products).
